Krabi: the heaven on earth

It was enough of Bangkok, so we decided to head to the islands; ocean, sand, lots of sun, that’s what we needed. On the same day, we booked a flight with Air Asia, two people, destination: Krabi, cost: 100 dollars. They have also international flights, not just domestic. You can easily reach China, India, Malaysia or Australia for a reasonable price.

After the capital, Krabi seemed like a heaven on the earth, but not so fast – before reaching our place, we had a quiet “nice” boat drive. Our hotel was reachable only by water. We arrived to the pier of Krabi, where they have let us know, that their boat had some problem, so they are trying to find us another one. Hmm, that would be okay in daytime, but it was the middle of the night, dark, dark ceiling.

10 minutes later, they came with a long tail boat. Below you can find a picture which tells everything.

Imagine this one in a bit bigger size. Our two large 30kg luggages and others were placed in the front, while we sat inside with 2 couples and a guy. When i stepped into the boat, it did a nice swing, so my stomach jumped to the place of my heart, and stayed there for a while. After that we had a 10 minute ride (or what seemed like 2 hours) in the full darkness. I was holding the handrail, gasping for air. In the end, with shaking legs, I left the boat and began to realize where we arrived. The next morning, this is what I saw from our terrace.

For minutes i was just staring, and of course i was just laughing on the last night’s “happening”. Who the fuck cares if this is where I am now?

We were staying at the Centara Grand Beach Resort. I think the ocean view room costs around 200 dollars per night. It’s a bit expensive, but a lifetime experience, for sure. You can also find cheaper solutions at this place.

Next beside the unbelievable landscape, they offer some “extras”. In our room we were reminded to close the balcony’s door for the night to avoid unexpected guests, since the hotel was located next to a national park, where there are monkeys. Yes, monkeys! Who will sometimes just show up, open the door, steal things from the minibar, eat and drink all anything they can find, maybe steal your bathing suit, or just have fun at the balcony. For 3 days we only saw 2 , but the last morning there were a lot in the resort, trying to steal some food during the breakfast. It was a funny entertainment in the hotel. We had some fun with them, but i think if i was practicing yoga someday on the terrace, doing the Savasana position, and one of them jumped on me… I would have a heart attack for sure. So, have the adventure spirit, even though i have less than i thought i did.
